WEDDINGS
As Two

Become One
The Unitarian Universalist Society of Rockport
Invites you and your future life partner
to begin your new life as One here.
A Beautiful Setting
Our historic New England church is surrounded by scenic beauty in a seaport town with a unique cultural tradition and artistic heritage. Your guests are bound to fall in love with Rockport’s many charms.
The sounds of waves hugging our shores and the enduring strength of Cape Ann’s famous granite reflect the celebration of nature’s ever changing rhythms and the sold, peaceful foundation upon which a sacred union is built.
Our sanctuary seats 150 to 175 guests. Our pews, newly reupholstered in a handsome fabric, lend a warm tone; Our burgundy carpet sets the stage for your walk down the isle. Our landscaping includes a lovely informal, bricked reception garden.
Exchange your vows in a place that has sparked Hollywood's imagination as a location for romance and laughter (Mermaids, The Love Letter, Stuck On You, and The Proposal). Let the beauty of our shores, and hospitality of our church, make your special day an experience to cherish with joy and delight for many happy anniversaries in the years ahead!
A MEANINGFUL CEREMONY
Message from our Minister
I look forward to helping you plan your wedding, shaping a ceremony that will reflect your beliefs, your dreams for that day, and your hopes for your future together. In our Unitarian Universalist tradition, we hold a deep respect for the individual journeys that have brought you to this exciting new beginning, and we can help you to celebrate your union with a loving appreciation for your uniqueness. We are proud of our long history of honoring the loving commitment of interfaith couples and same sex couples, and of all couples who wish to celebrate their love in a welcoming liberal religious setting.
Looking forward to meeting you,
The Reverend Katherine Reis
Music to Set the Mood
Our church appeals to musicians from around the world who appreciate the chance to perform here because of the quality of our sanctuary acoustics. We are fortunate to have an organ and a piano in the sanctuary, and Jennifer Ober, our Music Director is well trained on both. Jennifer has played for church services in New York, Florida, Massachusetts, and Maine.
Jennifer works closely with couples to choose the music for their special day, as she understands how important it is that the music expresses your unique tastes, feelings, and wishes. She loves to work with other musicians and/or soloists to enhance the music for your wedding, and is glad to plan rehearsal time, as needed. She looks forward to helping you start your new life together "on the right note"!

What's next? A visit!
It is important for you to feel comfortable in the sanctuary where your loved ones gather to witness you exchange your vows and begin your new life together. We also offer our Barton Vestry (for small intimate receptions), a convenient kitchen and upstairs "changing" rooms. Seeing our building and grounds will help you to visualize how your wedding will look. Please call ahead so we can greet you when you visit and give you a tour.
