Our worship leader was Maureen Aylward, Director of Town Green Gloucester.

The very engaging topic was about “Emergency Preparedness and the TownGreen Neighborhood Resiliency Project.” This has a number of key elements to it, with a goal to provide climate education directly to community residences. It’s about empowering each of us to be our own advocates, and to assure that measures are being taken to mitigate climate-change related threats that, sooner or later, will adversely impact Cape Ann.

Music: We welcomed back Laura Evans, who offered beautifully expressed pieces meshing perfectly with the service theme.

Being pledge season Kick-Off Sunday, the annual Pledge Luncheon was treated to the clever humor of Sister Septima (who we all know to be our own Caroline). Treasurer Dave Johnson then painted a vivid financial picture of UUSR’s future-to-come, and the importance that pledging holds with our faith community.
