Life Lessons from Jelalludin Rumi

This Sunday, Headlands will be leading us in song while Rev Susan delivers life lessons from Jelalludin Rumi. Rumi was born in 1207, in present day Tajikstan during the period known as the Persian empire. Until he was 37, Rumi was known as a great scholar and teacher of the Koran. At 37, a travelling dervish (a mystic and Sufi) named Shams appeared in Rumi’s life and changed it permanently. Their relationship, and Sham’s disappearance(s) transformed Rumi into a poet. He is perhaps the most popular “spiritual” poet in the world.
This will be Rev Susan’s last sermon until June 4th.
