The View From Here – January 2016

THE VIEW FROM HERE

A friend recently sent a link to a blog in which the author graphically illustrates how much time he has left, and some of the activities he hopes to enjoy before his predicted death at age 90.  It is a lot more uplifting than it sounds, and it is another reminder to us all to not waste time on petty problems and arguments, old resentments, and guilt.

This is very difficult spiritual work, but so important if you want to live a free and full life. The first two Sundays in January will be focused on this theme of time and I hope you can join me and members of the Worship committee and our guest musicians.  Perhaps January could be “Invite a friend to Church month”—there are 5 Sundays to choose from as well as the Martin Luther King, Jr march and service. Our congregation is open hearted and lively; serious but not solemn. Share the message of our free faith with people you think may be open to our message of religious and theological pluralism. Happy New Year to each of you! Let us all work towards bringing more peace and more hope into our world in 2016.

See you at 4 Cleaves Street!
