Halloween is Oct 31, All Saints day is Nov 1 and All Souls Day is on Nov 2. These holidays have their origins in “European folklore related to customs of veneration practiced worldwide through events like the Mexican Day of the Dead or the Chinese Ghost Festival.” (catholic.org). It is said that at this time of year, the veil between the living and the dead is quite thin. Please feel free to bring a memento of a beloved family member or friend who has passed away. Rev Susan and UUSR member Chuck Francis will be sharing reflections on death, and how our lives are made better for it.
