At noon, please come to the front lawn of the Rockport Congregational church (on Main Street) for a commemoration and celebration of Juneteenth, the date in 1865 when slaves in Texas, were finally told of their freedom. Texas was the last state of the Confederacy with institutional slavery. Last year, President Biden made this a federal holiday. Please gather with signs of racial justice, and other inspiring but yet unfulfilled dreams!
